Andrew Marlowe is a brilliant show runner. I never would have imagined the amazing journey he and the rest of the Castle cast and crew have taken us on. This is one of the smartest and most entertaining shows on TV. There haven’t been many shows that make me feel the way Castle makes me feel.

Castle ratings
ABC’s Castle won the 10 o’clock hour, beating CBS’ Hawaii Five-0 by 8% in Total Viewers and by 10% in Adults 18-49. It was Monday’s most-watched drama overall. Increasing 10% in Adults 18-49 and up for the 2nd week in a row, Castle equaled a season high. The ABC drama posted a new season high with Adults 18-34 for the 2nd week running to its best number in nearly 1 year - since 2/27/12. (x)

Here’s what we decided,” Marlowe teased. “The Bracken episode, episode 13, of this year, was pretty grand and operatic, and we’re also coming out of the two-parter [which is set to kick off on Monday, February 18th], which is [also] pretty grand and operatic. What I wanted for the 100th episode was a real classic, fun, bouncy, Castle episode, with some great Castle-Beckett stuff in it. Something that’s really a quintessential example of what we do here. That’s really what I’m aiming for. We’re going to be hitting some big notes towards the end of the season and I didn’t want to steal any thunder from that. So what I’m hoping for is an episode the fans just love for all the reasons they love Castle.

The Castle writers are extraordinary. They turned a regular show into a story filled with grief, love, family, and hope. They turned simple objects into things that have a meaning to them. Coffee, swings, cherries, and of course the word “always” can give people a happy feeling inside. The writers have presented us with characters who are like us in some ways. Either broken, emotionally drained, in love, caring, or confused, these characters are people we can relate to in more than one way. These characters have taught us to grow into the people we want to be like. Strong, compassionate, adventurous, and a leader to other people. The writers are just amazing, and I want to applaud them for the amazing work they have done.
